Shiva Fighters Karate School was founded by Sensei Shiva Vadivelu in 1989. Sensei Shiva Vadivelu is continuing to practice “Shito-ryu, Shotokan, and Goju-ryu” styles in Karate. Also have trained Kuthuvarisai, Kalari, Kobudo - Silambam, Nunchaku, Tonfa, Samurai, Sai under Dai Sensei Moses Thilak.
The karate school originally began in India and then branched out into Canada with one location, Toronto in 1997. With cooperation from students, parents, and the community, the karate school has grown and spanned all across the GTA. Shiva Fighters Karate School is a proud member of the Ontario Karate Federation which is the Sport Governing Body for Karate in Ontario (PSO). Members of Ontario Karate have a unique opportunity to compete at the provincial, national, international levels, Olympic and also access to many Grants.
This made possible through Ontario Karate’s membership with Karate Canada which, in turn, is the only Canadian organization that is a member of the World Karate Federation as well as the Canadian Olympic Committee. Members wishing to explore other ways to engage in their local karate community can also take advantage of many exciting and rewarding volunteer opportunities including 5 Elite Tournaments and over 7 Recreational League tournaments per year.
Sensei Shiva Vadivelu is the President of the Ontario Karate Federation since 2019 and also the Board of directors of the Ontario Karate Federation since 2016, one of the main founders of the Ontario Karate Federation. He was the Karate Ontario tournament commissioner from 2008 to 2015, executive director from 2012 to 2015. He had taken a very challenging path and a diplomatic lead to the betterment of karate in Ontario in 2016 and he had been successful on his path and done the impossible changes in karate in Ontario Canada with the help of many karate Sensei, Athletes, Coaches, and Clubs, since then the Ontario Karate Federation peacefully improve its capacity and its programs.

SENSEI SHIVA VADIVELU
Sensei Shiva Vadivelu is the Founder of Shiva Fighters Karate Ltd in Ontario, Canada. He was a referee in the All India Karate Federation since 1990, Kata and Kumite Champion. Practicing “Shito-ryu, Shotokan and Goju-ryu” styles in Karate. Also have trained Kuthuvarisai, Kalari, Kobudo – Silambam, Nunchaku, Tonfa, Samurai, Sai under Dai Sensei Moses Thilak.
SO-SHIHAN SENSEI MOSES THILAK
Dai Sensei Soshihan Dr. Moses Muthiah Thilagan was born in South India and started training karate in the early 1970′s. He was holding a 8th Dan black belt in karate (Shito Ryu Style) and was the founder of All India Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Federation.
Dai Sensei practicing various other martial arts and was introduced to Karate by Sensei Stephen from Malaysia. Later when Sensei Stephen returned to Malaysia he trained under Sensei Alan Dwyer, who himself had trained under Sensei Kenei Mabuni. He later went to Japan to study under Sensei Mabuni. So-Shihan Moses Thilak has been appointed the sole representative of Shito Ryu Karate-Do in India by Sensei Mabuni. He has also been the Indian National Chief Coach for Karate since 1981. He traveled to every nook and corner of INDIA spreading shito-Ryu karate So-Shihan Moses Thilak is also an expert of the sai, bo, nunchaku, and other weapons. He is also a master in Kalaripayattu and Marmani (pressure points). He also holds a doctorate in acupuncture.
So-Shihan Moses Thilak founded the Alan Thilak Shito Ryu Karate-Do to promote the Art of Karate in India. It is one of the premier Karate Schools in India with more than 2000 Dojos to affiliate to it. He is also the Chairman and Chief Technical Director of the All India Karate Federation (AIKF) which is affiliated to the World Karate Federation.
